I agree with you both; it is a bit creepy almost. But the likeness to reality is amazing. And thinking back at the dolls I used to play with - what a change.;)
I happened to be at a friends house a few weeks ago and they were watching "Coronation Street" (yes no manners, we will talk when the program ends). To the point, one of the characters in the soap had just had a baby and I noticed that something was not quite right ie, in the way a baby would react, so a few days later I contacted one of my ex work collegues at Granada TV to to find that the baby character was actually remote controlled, what gave it away was it was not blinking, the eyes were not operating, but so realistic. If I have spoiled this for viewers of Coronation Street my apologies.
